Preparing Your Bathroom with Electric Radiators for the winter

Installing newly invented Electric Bathroom Radiators or a Vertical Radiator in your bathroom will give a new look to its interior. There are various designs available in these radiators that can be chosen to complement your room. This will also remodel your room. Radiator adds luxury along with comfort to your bathroom.

Since its creation, bathroom is recognized as a place where a person can relax, rest and rejuvenate by pouring water on himself. People in summer die to take bath numerous times but they hesitate to do the same in winter. This is because the chill is unbearable and unsuitable for bath. Onset of winter is beautiful but along with this fact winter brings with it illness like cold or flu. Thus, it is necessary to stay warm in winter.
Many homes install radiators to keep them centrally warm. What about preparing your bathroom as well for winter by incorporating an electric radiator in it? Thus during the frigid months of winter a warm bathroom gives absolute joy. Here is a guide to prepare for cold winter by installing heating solutions in your bathroom:

Install Radiators: Incorporating space heaters or radiators in your bathroom will make it warm. Thus in a frigid morning while it’s still dark outside, when you step in your bathroom it will be toasty. In such toasty atmosphere when you take shower it is an extra-ordinary feeling. Stepping out from a soothing bathroom is very cosy and exciting.
Bathmats: Sometimes installing even the most expensive and decorative radiator keeps the tiles of the bathroom quite chilly which you may find unpleasant when you are wet. The best and ultimately easy solution to this is to place thick and plush bathmats on the bathroom floor. These bathmats can be placed in front of the toilet, sink and in front of the shower or bath-tub. Extremely thick bathmats will avoid pulling the chill of the tiles up to your bare feet.

Rack For Heating Towels: Heating towel racks are luxury items that adds to keep your bathroom warm and toasty. Installing this will help to fight back the chilled weather. It ensures that you walk from hot shower directly to hot towel. This criterion saves you from extreme penetration of cold that your body can experience immediately after shower.

Radiant Heating: Radiant heating is a kind that will heat up the entire floor as the heat spreads in all the four directions. This helps in maintaining the entire room at a constant temperature compared to the conventional heaters.

Turning Up The Temperature: By turning up the temperature of water heater by some degrees will also keep the bathroom warm. This will permit you to enjoy a long hot water shower that people in winter crave for.

Installation Process: The installation of radiators takes is a short process.
Metal: The radiator made up of stainless steel is appropriate though it may cost a little extra as this metal has no hassle of getting corroded. Thus ultimately it will save your cost of getting it galvanized time and again.

Cast Iron Radiators are environmental friendly

Now a day’s modern radiators have replaced the old Cast Iron Radiators, but the fact is Cast Iron Radiator works same as modern steel radiator do. There are few disadvantages of cast iron radiators. Cast iron radiators have more internal volume; hence they take more time to start up. But this disadvantage proves to be an advantage when the radiator is switched off as it retains heat after the boiler is switched off.
A cast iron radiator generally has more volume than the flat panel radiator; therefore it requires more work from the boiler. A temperature control localization of each radiator, a thermostatic valve will help to reduce the wasteful heat that is generated. This helps in regulating the temperature throughout the house by allowing the rooms to heat for long that are cool and giving less time to rooms having other sources of heat.
Now what is efficiency? The definition says that it is the ratio of useful work performed by the machine to the total energy expended or the heat being taken up. The total energy is the energy fed into the radiator; hence the efficiency of the radiator can be defined as the ratio of energy required to the energy emitted by radiator.
Conservation of energy says that the energy in should be energy out. Energy of new hot water cast iron radiators is equal to the summation of the energy emitted by the radiator plus energy required to heat the radiator. It is clear that with the increase in the amount of energy required to heat the amount of energy emitted will decrease, until the temperature equals the temperature of water. At this point the heat required  by the radiator will be zero.
Cast iron radiators have thick, heavy iron walls in between cooler ambient air and hot water. The billions of atoms of iron with very high kinetic energy emitted as heat energy heats the air around the radiator. The hot air has less density compared to the air surrounding; hence it rises up like a hot air balloon. The cool air surrounding the radiator fills the void and gets heated creating convection current in the room.
Therefore the air that is used up remains inside the room and is not polluted. The air is only heated and cooled; it is not mixed with other gaseous substances as it happens in the modern radiators. Where the cast iron radiator takes more time to heat up than taken by the flat panel radiator the time taken by the radiator to cool down is also more. Also both the radiators have almost same efficiency. In a cast iron radiator efficiency can be increased by highly efficient boiler, thermostatic radiator valves, clever use of insulation and turning off the radiators inside the room when not required.

Hence looking at the efficiency factors it proves that cast iron radiators prove to be very environmental friendly. The main reason being that it does not pollute the surrounding air and also keeps the air fresh.

Tips On How To Select The Best Designer Radiator For Your Home

The radiator was invented by a Russian man named Franz San Galli. Old radiators were made up of cast iron. However with advancement in technology aluminium radiators and stainless steel radiators also came up in the market. Gradually their designs also modified and demand for attractive radiators increased in the market. Choosing radiators depends on the interior of your home. How you have designed your home matters a lot. If you have designed your home in a traditional style choose a traditional type of radiator made up of cast iron. But if you are looking for something that is modern then flat panel radiators are a good option.

Radiators transfer thermal energy in order to heat up the surroundings. They are also used to dry wet clothes. While choosing a radiator do not depend only on its appearance. A good featured radiator is more appropriate than the good appearing one. Do not consider its design only but also account for the types of heating it offers. Depending upon the heat generated from it choose the one that suits you the best. Vertical and horizontal designer radiators that warm up the floor are also in the market that will keep your feel warm. If the material of floor in your house is good conductor of heat then installing under floor heating is advisable. This can be done by installing a pipe network below the floor which will in turn keep your feet warm like a toast. This installation is tricky as well as expensive but the benefits will outweigh all the cost incurred.
If you want to update the style of your house then choose newly designed radiators. Choosing the right design is important that will complement the furniture of your home thus you have to be careful while choosing radiators as they will be an investment of long term. These days refinishing an antique radiator at a low price has become very easy. One of the ways is to coat radiators with powder that is like a paint giving an automotive finish.
The other thing is selecting a designed radiator cover if you do not want to invest in an expensive radiator. Replacing or refinishing an old radiator can lead you in long bills thus selecting a cover that can be easily installed over the radiator and removed whenever required cleaning it. This retains the heat of the radiator making the room warmer.
Check the generator used in the radiator. It is not always that the larger size of the radiator will generate more heat. It depends on the capacity of the generator. If this generator absorbs too much of electricity it will release long bills. Devices that rely on forced or natural convection are known as an electric convector radiators. These can also be installed on your walls.
The main thing while installing a radiator is the wall. See that the wall is strong enough to carry the load of the radiator or else the size of the radiator is small enough to stay on the wall.

Attractive tips to increase the heat generated by cast iron radiators

Cast iron radiators were the foremost radiators that were invented. However stainless steel radiators are available in the market now that gives a retro look of cast iron radiators. Stainless steel is a high quality element with numerous properties. The main and unique quality that differentiates steel and iron is “oxidation”. Stainless steel doesn't rust. However it also depends on the grade of quality of steel used. Obviously poor quality will not display the true features of steel. There are some 150 grades amongst which very few are suitable to make radiators. It is also a good conductor of heat and holds heat for a longer period as compared to aluminium radiators. Stainless steel appears attractive as well as it is easy to maintain its cleanliness. You can just wipe it with warm water with detergent dissolved in it.

Compared to the cast iron version of radiators with the modern stainless steel radiators, the cast iron radiators take long time to heat up and stay warm for a long time in turn keeping your room warm for longer time. The main purpose of a radiator is to heat your rooms. Heating of a radiator depends on the Wattage. Higher the Wattage, warmer the room will get.

There is something very interesting about cast iron heaters that is you can maximize the heat generated from them by following few simple ways:

Over a period of time air occupies space in the radiators and thus there is left very less space for hot water in it. At least once a year bleed out air from the radiators. You can ask a heating professional to do this if you don’t possess a bleed key or the valves are kept shut.

The second thing is you can make an attempt to reflect the heat. Make a sliding heat reflector behind the radiator. You can make a heat reflector by yourself. Cut an insulation board in a piece that is few inches wide and taller than the radiator. Then cover that insulating piece with heavy duty foil of aluminium placing its shining surface out. Slide this reflector behind the radiator. This mechanism is such that it will reflect heat in the center of the room.

Make a point you keep your radiators clean. Make an effort to get them clean every two months. There are slim bottle brushes available to clean the radiators. This brush slips easily between the parts of the radiator and loosens the dirt stuck in the radiator. Then attach a crevice device over a vacuum cleaner so that the vacuum pulls the entire dust. Then give a final touch by using any dampened cloth.

Never leave any pipe of the radiator exposed. Make sure you wrap them with any insulating material or else they will lead heat to unwanted areas of the radiator. People who intend to have a Victorian ambiance of their house cast iron radiators are very popular amongst them.

Designed Heated Towel Rails that enhances the appearance of your home

Heated towel rails have popularized over the past few years. People are gradually realizing the benefits generated by heated towel rails. Heated towel rails originated in Europe in 1920s and were then considered to be a luxurious item. They were made by cast iron and were subject to massive affair. They were also known as bath radiators. But due to depression, affording this luxury became difficult and as a result the idea of bath radiators vanished. Later in 1990s when the economy became stable the idea of heated towel rails evolved again. This was the period when the bath radiators were considered a necessity in modern bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens rather than a luxury.

The main purpose of radiator is to give out heat that warms your room in chilly winters. This heating rack can be used to warm winter clothes before starting your journey in a cold winters or dry out wet clothes before outing for a trip. If your bathroom is chilly bath radiators prove to be handy. Many business houses, salons and best hotels as well use heated towel rails. There are various ranges of heated towel rails available today that you can choose keeping in mind its benefits you want.
An electrical heated towel rail consumes low power. It is safe as well as energy efficient. Whereas dual fuel towel rail has the ability to utilize the towel radiator even in summers when the central heating is not kept switched on. Vertical radiator occupies less space compared to horizontal radiators. They do not only work as a towel heater, but also with their attractive designs available now they allure your home.

Ensure zero energy wastage with convection heaters

Heaters, especially for low-temperature places, are extremely important. Convection heaters use air to heat the surrounding areas by pushing the air over the heating coil or pulling in the air. They are inexpensive and as far as safety is concerned, convection heaters are the best. Especially for the personal spaces including desks and rooms, convection heaters do the perfect job of maintaining the temperatures.
Opting for a convection heater to heat the space is a good energy-efficient choice. Convection heaters are a great choice for saving on high energy bills because of the fact that they do not heat the entire room for heating. The isolated space where heat is required can be heated easily using them. Especially when a person is reading a book and occupies a certain space in the room, convection heaters are the best. These have thermostats built into them so that one knows how much is the amount of heat that is required, and thus save on unnecessary energy bills.

The more the energy saved, the lesser are the bills. Here are some guidelines to save energy using convection heaters:
  • Be clear about the amount of heat required. Choosing a very powerful convection heater would be a wrong choice as a large chunk of energy will be wasted. For instance, using a convection heater that includes a ribbon or a wire heating device is better.
  • Know the costs of installation and running in advance. Analyze and compare the different options available before zeroing in on the right type of convection heater.
  • Energy efficient electric convection heater is a great choice. Around 2000 watts power is used by an electric convection heater to heat up a space quickly. The added advantage of using them is clean and fresh air, which is better for the families. The energy efficiency of these heaters is very close to 100% which means no energy is wasted.

The Hot Bathroom Decor

This may seem at the first glance as a honeymoon package but it is for every home. Imagine a sauna kind of bath at your very own home! Which is the first place we all go to after we wake up from bed? We all sleepily walk into a bathroom to get fresh. So if the bathroom is all wet and cold and damp, how would we feel? We would all feel miserable. Wouldn't it feel all cosy and nice to pamper yourself in a warm bathroom? Otherwise with the mercury level going down to nil outside, taking a bath becomes an onerous task in cold countries.

Bathroom Towel Bars keep not only the bathrooms warm and the towels fresh but also generate heat to the entire room adjacent to the bathroom. When you enter a bathroom that’s warm when you wake up on a snowy morning, the feeling is different. The towel bar looks like a ladder made of stainless steel but they are actually square tubes through which warm water passes. The dual Chrome Finish and the White Finish give it a polished tidy look. The bathroom towel bar has many rails to hang towels and each towel remains warm. Wet towels hung on these rails also dry faster because of the heat.

Electric Bathroom Radiators work completely on electric. The safety valve vents out unwanted air from inside and the radiator is fitted via a 5 Amplitude fuse outside the bathroom.Designer Radiators are a trendy thing in the washroom nowadays. With the world turning all chic and stylish, the living room is not the only place to keep decorated. People are turning more and trendier when it comes to bathrooms too. The Fedon design is very popular amongst customers. It has a dual function joint and also serves as a base for shelves and mirrors. The Flagtherm design is also gaining popularity. Its structure is straight lines with its inner portion that serves as a space for a mirror or a painting. Optotherm is also a designer radiator. It has hand towel rails fitted crosswise above it. Radiators are also manufactured from aluminium. Some come with drape like design to give it a more sophisticated look.

So the next time you think of renovating your bathroom or getting an electric radiator fitted, keep in mind the various designs they come in. This is a real deal of a real ‘hot’ bathroom decor.
